Job Summary:
Assists the Corrections and Law Enforcement staff with various duties. Provides assistance in the Control Center and Booking Area using controls to open doors after authorizing entry, answers phones, escorts inmates, fingerprints persons, delivers mail and performs various clerical duties. Picks up and delivers court documents, performs data entry and filing and assists the public.
Wage: $16.02 per hour, no benefits, variable schedule, as needed, up to 19.5 hours per week.
This position comes with the potential for sponsorship to the Police Academy and serves as a stepping stone in learning about Law Enforcement.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitors computer displays of secured areas and authorizing or denying entry to people requesting that doors be opened.
- Collects fingerprints from individuals for various purposes.
- Data entry and filing.
- Transports equipment and/or vehicles to alternate location.
- Greets the public, providing information, filling report requests, receiving property, and assisting with use of video visitation equipment.
- Deliver mail throughout the facility.
- Assists Courthouse Security Deputies with fingerprinting or document delivery.
Note: Must be currently enrolled in either a High School/Tech Center Law Enforcement Program or pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.
