Park Maintenance - Part Time

Job Summary
Maintains assigned County properties, as assigned by Parks Manager. Performs a variety of facility and equipment maintenance, grounds care, custodial work and provides customer service
Wage: $18.71 per hour, no benefits, variable schedule, as needed, up to 19.5 hours per week
Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintains the cleanliness and performs repairs, improvements, and maintenance of the grounds and facility structures (restrooms, pavilions, parking lots) and amenities (playgrounds and benches).
- Provides grounds maintenance; mowing, weeding, trimming, and erosion control to parks and other assigned county properties.
- Utilizes a variety of hand and power tools for maintenance work.
- Operates and performs minor maintenance on trucks, tractors, mowers, or other mechanical equipment.
- Inspect park grounds and facilities structures for safety, appearance, and vandalism; removes graffiti from park surfaces; reports any dangerous conditions to designated supervisor.
- Provides responsive, high quality service to County employees, representatives of outside agencies, and members of the public by providing accurate, complete, and up-to-date information in a courteous, efficient, and timely manner. Responds to customer questions and complaints.
- Performs other such duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- One (1) year experience working in building, custodial, lawn care, and equipment maintenance.
- Prefer knowledge of horses and horse trails as well as the ability to troubleshoot small engines and perform routine maintenance.
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License
